A lighter letter is less than one answer from its cut-off, so it could go either way.

Where your letters come from
Each bar runs from 0 to 100. The thin line is the cut-off: the published average.
A fifth scale: steadiness
It is not one of the four letters. It shows how you tend to handle stress, and it counts when you compare with someone.
Different from another test?
Your letters come from Big Five scores, so they can differ from other 16-type tests, mostly on F/T and J/P, and can shift if you retake the test. The bars say more than the letters.
How we score
each of the five scales has 8 statements, and half of them are worded the other way round. We average your answers (flipping those), then stretch the 1 to 5 range to 0 to 100. Each letter splits at a cut-off: the average for these kinds of statements in a published sample of 320,128 adults (Kajonius and Johnson, 2019). It is one English-language sample, so treat the cut-offs as a guide. A letter less than one answer from its cut-off is shown both ways.
Cut-offs: Kajonius & Johnson (2019), Europe's Journal of Psychology 15(2), 260-275, Table A1. Sample: 320,128 US adults online, 60% women, mean age 28. Read the paper (open access)
Statements: adapted from the public-domain International Personality Item Pool (IPIP).

How we compare
Two type codes
How we rank: 2 points if you share N or S (how you see things), 1 if you share F or T (how you decide), 1 if your E and I differ (your energy balances out) and 1 if your J and P differ (one plans, one adapts). 4 or 5 points: clicks easily. 2 or 3: fits in parts. 0 or 1: takes some effort. Equal points are ordered by the same conditions: N/S first, then F/T, E/I and J/P.
This is a rule of thumb from four letters. People of one type still differ a lot in their real scores, and no pair is set up to work or to fail. Comparing your real results is more precise.
Two test results
We compare all five real scores, steadiness included. Scales where you are within 20 points of each other count as alike. You get the three you share most, the one where you differ most, and a word for you two.
How we pick the word: within 20 points on 4 or 5 scales is Very alike, on 2 or 3 is Complementary, and on 0 or 1 is Different but workable, or Opposites when you're 40 or more points apart on average.
